Manufacturer warranties
GEM Windows & Doors chooses its manufacturers carefully. One of the factors we weigh is the comprehensiveness of the company’s warranty. But we also consider the stability of the company and its reputation for honouring the guarantees it offers customers.
The manufacturers we carry offer warranties ranging from one year to a lifetime, depending on the product. Some warranties cover everything, while others have particular limitations. Sometimes customer actions can make a warranty invalid. It’s always a good idea to speak to your salesperson about manufacturer warranties—forewarned is forearmed.
If you experience a problem with your window or door purchase, GEM takes care of you. We deal with the manufacturer, arrange for replacement parts, schedule the work and follow up with you to make sure everything is resolved. If the window or door is covered by warranty, we’ll take care of any paperwork required.
We’ve got strong relationships with our manufacturers, which becomes a strategic advantage for our customers if they ever have an issue with their purchase.
The Window Wise advantage – 10 years of peace of mind
GEM Windows & Doors offers a 5-year warranty on installation. If you experience a problem within the first five years, we’ll cover the cost of labour and materials to make the situation right.
But because GEM Windows & Doors is a certified Window Wise installer, your replacement window investment is insured for an additional 5 years by Window Wise’s non-prorated, transferable warranty. This is in addition to the 5-year guarantee on labour and materials that GEM offers—when you add the two together you get a full 10-year warranty on labour and materials.
GEM Windows & Doors completes and submits your Window Wise registration forms. If you don’t receive confirmation of your registration within six weeks of completion of your Window Wise window replacement, contact Window Wise.
Because the Window Wise warranty is offered by a third party, your windows are still covered for the full five years, even if the manufacturer or installer shuts its doors.

Our strong relationships with these companies means we can often get replacement parts for free, even outside of warranty, and will simply charge you for labour costs.
