The Canada Greener Homes Initiative provides grants and a loan for EnerGuide evaluations and for retrofits.
It is important that you read all eligibility criteria and grant requirements to be sure that you will qualify for the grant.
The Canadian Government has announced the ‘Greener Home Grant’. This program provides financial incentive to upgrade your home. Making your home more energy efficient has never been easier and is even more rewarding.
By replacing your windows and doors you may be eligible for up to $5,000 in grants. GEM Windows & Doors has a wide selection of windows, doors, and patio doors that are eligible under the Greener Home Grant requirements.
Follow these easy steps on the road to an energy efficient home
*Proof of ownership required
** Homeowner responsibility to pay for evaluation, homeowners can apply for reimbursement up to $600. All Energystar labels must remain on until after the post EnerGuide evaluation.
***All documents must be kept until March 31, 2028

The Canada Greener Homes Loan exists to assist & incentivize Canadians with an alternative way to make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable by offering interest-free financing in addition to the Canada Greener Homes Grant. This helps you complete some of the more major retrofits recommended by your energy advisor.
To begin work in your home, a portion of the loan can be delivered to you up front. Contractors often require a down payment for these types of projects. The balance of the loan will be delivered upon successful completion of the retrofits, and verification through a post-retrofit evaluation.
By replacing your windows and doors you may be eligible for up to $5,000 in grants that will help to offset the cost of your home renovation and make your home more energy efficient. GEM is proud to have a selection of windows, doors and patio doors that are eligible under the Greener Home Grant requirements.
How it works:
Step 1 - Register for the Greener Home program *
Step 2 - Pre-Retrofit EnerGuide Evaluation**
Step 3 - Plan your Retrofits
Step 4 - Submit Loan Application
Step 5 - Complete Retrofits (keep receipts for reimbursement) ***
Step 6 - Post-Retrofit EnerGuide Evaluation
Step 7 - Receive your Loan Amount
